Natasha May Platt x Bijou

Natasha is a Brooklyn-based mural artist working under the name “Surface of Beauty.” Her work is influenced by the color and rhythm of textile traditions, as well as by her connection to nature and the practice of meditation. She has painted for Coach, the Walt Disney Company, the Governor’s Ball Music Festival, Yumi Kim and the Howard Hughes Corporation. Her murals can be found in New York, Los Angeles, Bali, Mexico, and India.

Natasha earned her BA in Philosophy and Religion from Harvard College. After graduation, she received the 2010 Gardner Fellowship for a year of international creative exploration. The fellowship led her to the embroidery and textile traditions of Kolkata, where she spent 3 years studying and working in textile design.
