Benedict Hadley x BIJOU
Based in Brooklyn, NY, Benedict Hailey is a filmmaker and artist. His work focuses on the essence of life and the human spirit as they are affected by both the built and natural environment. Vivid, complex, and intended to be a spiritual and liberating experience, his art is geared to a sophisticated, creative and ambitious audience from all walks of life.
Benedict believes that only art with intention and purpose can empower the viewer with an all-encompassing feeling. His work exists at the intersection of architecture, fashion, fine arts, public education and street art. His films have been shown at such international events as the Cannes Film Festival and New York Fashion Week. He has created commercial films for Jay-Z, Francis Ford Coppola, PBS, costume designer June Ambrose, author John Ziesel, Michelin-star- winning chef Aliya LeeKong and the Urban League. His fine art, including sculpture, paintings and video art, has been included in private collections as well as those of Members of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, MacArthur Genius Grant recipients and the Biden family. He is a co-founder of the New Ark Fellowship Project and is a two-time nominee of the prestigious Loeb Fellowship for Design at Harvard University. His film “Trap Cakes” was released in 2020.
